Specialized Needs Coordinator

Position Overview
The role of the Specialized Needs Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring that our institution meets the diverse requirements of our students. This position involves a variety of responsibilities that may evolve over time to adapt to the changing needs of the College.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
This appointment is governed by the Conditions of Service applicable to Business Support Staff.
VETTING PROCESS
All candidates who are successful will be subject to the following verification processes:
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Two References, one of which must be from your current or most recent employer
- Verification of Qualifications
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position ranges from £28,122 to £30,832 annually. Your initial salary will be determined based on your qualifications and experience. Following the successful completion of your probationary period, your salary will increase annually within the designated salary band until the maximum scale is reached.
WORKING HOURS
The standard working hours for this role are 37 hours per week, throughout the year.
LEAVE ENTITLEMENT
This position includes 25 days of annual leave, in addition to eight public holidays and five discretionary days as determined by the Principal. After two years of continuous service, your annual leave will increase to 30 days.
PENSION PLAN
The College offers an occupational pension scheme, specifically the 'Local Government Pension Scheme'.
PROBATIONARY REQUIREMENTS
Newly appointed staff are required to complete a six-month probationary period. During this time, attendance at the Corporate staff induction day, a Teaching and Learning Induction session (if applicable), and various mandatory training sessions is essential for successful completion of probation.
REFERENCE CHECKS
All applicants must provide two satisfactory references.
WORK LOCATION
The successful candidate will primarily work across various campuses, with potential assignments at different locations as needed.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
The selected candidate must demonstrate fitness to perform the duties of the role as assessed by the Medical Officer.
QUALIFICATION VERIFICATION
The College will verify qualifications by contacting the relevant educational institutions. Only essential qualifications for the role will be pursued.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION ACQUISITION
If obtaining a qualification is a contractual obligation, the College reviews its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) budget annually, and funding for course fees cannot be guaranteed. However, student loan options are available.
LITERACY AND NUMERACY REQUIREMENTS
All staff must possess a minimum Level 2 qualification in both English and Maths. If you do not currently hold these qualifications, you will be expected to obtain them during your employment.
COMMITMENT TO SAFEGUARDING
The College is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. Newly appointed staff must complete safeguarding training during their probationary period.
DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK
Successful applicants will be required to undergo and finance a Disclosure and Barring Service check, with costs deducted from the first salary payment. The College adheres to the DBS Code of Practice and has policies regarding the recruitment of ex-offenders.
