Job Title: Special Needs Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Support Worker to join our team at GSL Education. As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young adults with various Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher and multi-agency teams in devising learning and care plans to encourage young adults to reach their full potential.
  • Set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour while supporting young adults academically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Work collaboratively with the support staff to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young adults with SEN.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with young adults, their families, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in a support setting, preferably in a SEN provision.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with challenging behaviour in an education, secure, residential, or support setting.
  • Ability to write reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Clear Enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
  • Ability to provide a full career history and two referees.
