Job Summary

Pearson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert to join our team as a GCE A Level Design and Technology Moderator. As a Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in the centres and then sent to you.

  • Undertake, when necessary, the direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.

Requirements

  • Have one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, within the relevant qualification and subject, since qualifying as a teacher.

  • Hold a degree or equivalent.

  • Be a qualified teacher.

Competencies

  • Have the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Have the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme.

Additional Information

  • All Moderators will have to attend an In-house marking centre at a chosen venue.
