Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Moderator to join our team at Pearson. As a Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our GCE A Level Design Technology qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in centres and then sent to you.
  • Undertake, when necessary, the direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.

Requirements

  • Have one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, within the relevant qualification and subject, and since qualifying as a teacher.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Be a qualified teacher.

Competencies

  • Have the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme.

Additional Information

  • All Moderators will have to attend an In-house marking centre at a chosen venue.
