Project Moderator Role

A Project Moderator at Pearson will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of assessments in Design and Technology. As a subject matter expert, you will review centre assessments and apply the agreed assessment criteria and Pearson's procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct moderation of centre samples, ensuring that assessments are marked consistently and accurately.
  • Undertake direct assessment of school-based components, where centres opt not to make initial assessments.

Requirements:

  • One academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, relevant qualification and subject, or since qualifying as a teacher.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualification as a teacher.

Competencies:

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.

Additional Information:

  • Modulators will attend an In-house marking centre at a chosen venue in the North of England.
