About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Caretaker to join our team at GSL Education in Bournemouth. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and security of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of school equipment and facilities.
  • Supervise a small team of support staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and addressing potential hazards promptly.
  • Liaise with school staff, contractors, and external agencies to coordinate maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to the learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenditures, and equipment inventory.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a School Caretaker or in a similar setting.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
