About the RoleGSL Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated school Caretaker to join a local school in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for students and staff, as well as overseeing the maintenance and security of school premises.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance and security of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of school equipment and facilities.
- Supervise a small team of support staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address potential hazards promptly.
- Act as the point of contact for emergencies, addressing issues such as fire alarms, heating failures, and security breaches.
- Liaise with school staff, contractors, and external agencies to coordinate maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to the learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, expenditures, and equipment inventory.
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker or in a similar setting.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
