Bookkeeper Role

This is a newly created position for an experienced bookkeeper working for a growing, independent firm of accountants in Solihull. Reporting to the Bookkeeping Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small portfolio of clients who require bookkeeping services on a regular basis. The role will also include some payroll processing and the preparation of VAT returns for clients, as well as producing Management Accounts.

The firm deals with a wide range of clients, and many are seeking help with their bookkeeping work, with turnovers in the £3-4 million range. You will need to have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and a good understanding of Xero software would be a distinct advantage. Experience is more important than qualifications for this role, but it may suit someone who is AAT qualified looking for a new challenge.

This is a full-time, permanent position and would suit someone who can work with little supervision and is able to prioritize a variable workload. Salary guide up to £28,000 DOE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small portfolio of clients requiring bookkeeping services
  • Process payroll and prepare VAT returns for clients
  • Produce Management Accounts
  • Work with a wide range of clients, including those with turnovers in the £3-4 million range
  • Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice
