Building Services Shift Manager

Messiah University seeks a highly skilled and experienced Campus and Building Services Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the cleaning of academic buildings, working closely with the Campus and Building Services Manager and Assistant Manager to serve as a liaison for the department, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train Campus and Building Services workers to ensure high-quality work and adherence to departmental standards.
- Monitor and inspect work of Campus and Building Services workers in assigned areas to ensure work is being done properly.
- Assist with the onboarding process of new employees and provide training and support as needed.
- Learn and use translating apps to train and work with staff who have English as a second language.
- Supervise and complete timesheets, appraisals, and other relevant paperwork for 2nd shift staff members.
- Identify and perform daily, periodic, and project cleaning tasks, as well as event planning and preparation.
- Perform inspections of work in assigned areas using the Compuclean inspection app.
- Assist the Campus and Building Services Assistant Manager with staff scheduling and have the ability to create schedules in their absence.
- Assist with employee and student evaluations, and review and sign all 2nd shift student worker appraisals and disciplinary documentation.
- Supervise student workers in various buildings when Student supervisors are off for one day or extended time.
- Maintain equipment, including data, repair requests, and communication with the Campus and Building Services Assistant Manager.
- Oversee summer office cleanouts and inspect work, communicating with the dayshift manager when the task is finished.
- Organize, coordinate, and perform set-up/tear-down of classes, special events, and conference accommodations.
