The Critical Care Transport Paramedic (CCT-P) plays a vital role in delivering both emergency and non-emergency medical services. As a certified Critical Care Paramedic in Pennsylvania, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient patient care during transport and in pre-hospital settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer comprehensive life support, including basic and advanced techniques, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate the severity of patient conditions to prioritize necessary medical interventions.
  • Effectively rescue and extricate individuals from hazardous situations using established medical protocols.
  • Provide treatment to patients during transport and in inter-facility settings, adhering to all legal and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to coordinate further treatment and ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain scene safety and order, managing the presence of bystanders and family members as necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly, including patient care and insurance forms.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment and treatment, tailored to the age and condition of the individual.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a professional environment during emergency responses.
  • Document all assessments and treatments thoroughly on approved records in a timely manner.
  • Ensure vehicle readiness by performing routine checks and maintenance, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
  • Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Recognize and adhere to the established chain of command in all situations.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings to stay informed and engaged with organizational goals.
  • Understand and uphold legal and ethical responsibilities in all aspects of patient care.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely, following all relevant laws and organizational policies.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for various tasks. Must be capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects, as well as performing physical activities such as bending, squatting, and climbing. Clear communication skills are essential, both verbally and in writing.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma is required. Candidates must have completed a certified Critical Care Paramedic course and hold relevant certifications, including BCLS, PALS, ACLS, and others as specified. A minimum of three years of experience as a certified Paramedic is also required.
