Regional Clinical Lead System Improvement - Frailty

The Clinical Improvement and Transformation team, a newly formed entity within NHS England South West Region, Medical Directorate, is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Regional Clinical Lead System Improvement - Frailty. This position requires a clinical critical thinker and systems leader with experience in working with acute, community, and primary care settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor clinical improvement performance against agreed national standards.
  • Engage with health professionals and relevant stakeholders to ensure wider clinical engagement.
  • Provide regular mentoring and mentorship to ensure strong individual performance and team relationships.
  • Facilitate regional community of interest networks.

The NHS England board has outlined the top-level purpose for the new organization, which includes enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients, reducing health inequalities, and optimizing the use of digital technology, research, and innovation.

This role will involve providing hands-on support to local health systems to harmonize practice in accordance with best practice and reduce unwarranted variation in clinical outcomes, access, and productivity. The successful candidate will also support engagement of key stakeholders, including Royal Colleges and specialist societies, BMA, and Local Medical Committees, the South West Clinical Senate, and Health Innovation Networks (HINs).

The post holder will lead clinical conversations on the development and implementation of new models of care to provide best practice outcomes to the population of the region. They will also support the National Clinical Leads and Regional Improvement and Improvement Managers by providing clinical insight into regional and system data.
