Teaching Assistant for SEND Support

Protocol Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a background in Psychology or Sociology. This position focuses on providing tailored support to students with diverse educational needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized and group support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the areas of Psychology and Sociology.
  • Adapt instructional strategies and resources to cater to the specific needs of students with ASC, PMLD, and SLD.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personalized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to foster an inclusive educational environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, offering constructive feedback and support as needed.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience or familiarity with working with students with ASC, PMLD, and SLD is advantageous, or a willingness to receive training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Essential traits include patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to supporting students with varied needs.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
