Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic midwifery team, providing high-quality care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour, and childbirth. They will be responsible for delivering postnatal care to women and babies in various settings, including home, community, hospitals, and Children's Centres.

They will work closely with obstetric colleagues to ensure safe practice in all settings, and will be accountable for their own practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and have a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Effective influencing skills, particularly with senior healthcare professionals
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management and complaints procedures, and will have demonstrable experience of staff development and performance management. They will also have effective influencing skills, particularly with senior healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will be a registered midwife with the NMC, and will have a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care. They will be able to work effectively in a team, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
