About the Role:
The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a skilled Multilingual Interpreter to join our team. As a Multilingual Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between residents and council services, ensuring equal access to local health services and council services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face language interpretation services to residents in a variety of settings, including healthcare and council services.
- Translate documents as required to enable residents to access local health services and council services.
- Work with health and social care professionals to provide high-quality interpretation services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community groups and organizations to promote the service and identify new opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of the service, including identifying areas for improvement and suggesting new initiatives.
Requirements:
- Recognized qualification in Interpreting and Translation to a minimum level of Community Interpreting level 3.
- Considerable experience in public service interpreting and translation.
- Experience working with health or social care professionals is desirable.
- Other areas of expertise such as medical and legal interpreting are an advantage.
