SC4 Recruitment Limited is seeking a seasoned operations professional to assume the role of Director of Operations, reporting directly to the Plant Director. This position offers a unique opportunity to join the Operational Leadership Team and play a crucial role in the manufacturing transformation aimed at achieving strategic business objectives focused on growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute strategies to achieve operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, lead time, cost, and productivity.
  • Employ lean methodologies to lead and develop lean manufacturing initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned with strategic goals.
  • Ensure world-class health, safety, and environmental standards by collaborating with the EHS lead.
  • Oversee company KPIs, ensuring targets are communicated effectively from the shop floor to senior management; implement a robust visual management system. Utilize operational metrics to identify root causes of issues.
  • Engage in the New Product Introduction process to facilitate efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Promote effective communication to nurture a proactive and accountable operational culture.
  • Assess and, when necessary, implement changes to the manufacturing structure to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
  • Contribute to achieving budgeted orders, sales, margins, EBITDA, and administrative costs as part of the Operational Leadership Team.
  • Identify capital investment needs and prepare justifications for return on investment.

  • Demonstrated experience in a complex assembly environment within the manufacturing sector.
  • Dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement, with the ability to drive change from a traditional mindset.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the capacity to communicate, motivate, and guide teams across all levels.
  • Proficient understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong personal credibility and presence, inspiring team members to meet and exceed objectives.
