Job Overview

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Physical Education Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of physical education lessons to students.
  • Support the physical education teacher in managing the classroom and providing targeted assistance to students.
  • Lead small group activities and extra-curricular sports clubs to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Help assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during physical education activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive sports culture within the school, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school environment, preferably in a physical education setting.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of various sports and physical activities, including rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Passion for promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle, with a commitment to supporting students' physical and emotional well-being.

Safeguarding and Child Protection:

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
