Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Children's Occupational Therapy Team in Rochdale Council. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with disabilities, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Behaviours of Concern, to live safely and independently in their own homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake frontline holistic assessments in a social care setting to identify the needs of children and young people with disabilities.
- Develop and implement plans to support children and young people to maintain and maximise their safety and independence in their own homes.
- Work closely with other children's social care colleagues, including Social Workers and the OT Health Team, to provide a comprehensive service to children and young people.
- Manage your own case load and provide regular updates to the Occupational Therapy Team Manager.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in occupational therapy.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Behaviours of Concern.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, young people, and their families.
- Strong customer care and child-centred ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
