About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Station Chef to join our team at Officers Mess, Baker Barracks, Thorney Island. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cook and prepare food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
  • Assist with function work, including silver service level food preparation
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Follow recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a range of meals
  • Complete daily paperwork to ensure due diligence
  • Assist with deliveries and stock checks
  • Monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries
  • Participate in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all menu items served
  • Manage production and food levels to minimize waste
  • Act as a trainer/coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
Requirements
  • Relevant culinary qualification (706/1 or 706/2 or equivalent)
  • Excellent team player and communicator
  • Confident chef with a passion for delivering high-quality food
  • Security checks and DBS required for this role
  • Flexibility and ability to innovate
