Job Title: Experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Histopathology department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic services to patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all clinical laboratory tasks to support the specialized diagnostic service for patients in the Histopathology department.
  • Perform routine diagnostic testing procedures on histology and non-gynae cytology samples.
  • Assist the pathologist at specimen dissection, taking accurate descriptive notes.
  • Produce digital images of specimens and high-quality sections.
  • Assess all stained slides for quality and accuracy.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • IBMS accredited BSc degree or equivalent.
  • IBMS Registration Portfolio.
  • Experience of working in a clinical histopathology NHS Laboratory for a minimum of 3 months.

We also welcome applications from candidates with experience of non-gynae cytology procedures and knowledge of IT in a pathology environment.
