About the Role

Climax Studios, a leading creative force in independent games development, is seeking an experienced and multi-talented Senior Environment Artist to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conceiving, creating, and implementing innovative artistic visuals for AAA titles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement artistic visions for AAA titles, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to create high-quality, visually stunning environments that meet the highest standards of the industry.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and techniques, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in our work.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, helping to develop their skills and expertise.
Requirements
  • At least 4+ years of experience in console development, with a proven track record of shipping AAA titles.
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively direct and collaborate with internal and external teams.
  • Strong resource management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable presenting to clients and stakeholders, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a passion for delivering high-quality results and a commitment to excellence.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Maya, Unreal 4, Unity, and Substance.
  • Strong modeling and texturing skills, with a focus on creating high-quality, realistic environments.
  • Excellent understanding of lighting and composition, with the ability to create visually stunning environments.
  • Experience with iterative development and rapid prototyping, with a focus on delivering high-quality results quickly and efficiently.
