Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic catering and hospitality expert to oversee the training, mentorship, and operational management of our upcoming Clubhouse Café at Gunnersbury Park. This café will serve as a vital community hub, promoting social interaction and supporting various community projects for individuals of all ages.
The Clubhouse Social Café Manager will spearhead the establishment of the café, which is set to launch in the near future, and will be responsible for managing the Food and Beverage Operations in compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Service Delivery:
- Lead the café's establishment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and effective staffing.
- Develop and source suppliers to guarantee seamless service delivery.
- Contribute to and execute project-based business plans as directed by senior management.
- Coordinate with suppliers for inventory management and stock levels.
- Design and prepare menus for the Clubhouse Café.
- Collaborate with other project managers on initiatives related to nutrition and hospitality.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards and accommodating special dietary requirements.
- Work towards achieving financial targets.
Food Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to HACCP and all relevant food safety regulations, maintaining necessary documentation.
- Address customer feedback promptly and effectively, implementing improvements as needed.
- Utilize kitchen equipment safely and uphold health and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with established guidelines.
People Management and Training:
- Mentor staff, trainees, and interns in the effective operation of the café.
- Provide training to café staff to cultivate a culture of exceptional customer service.
- Adhere to data protection and privacy protocols.
- Stay updated on safeguarding policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a unified approach to safeguarding.
- Engage in meetings to contribute to the enhancement of safeguarding policies.
Essential Qualifications:
- City & Guilds 706/1 | 706/2 Catering or equivalent.
- Level 1, 2, and 3 Food Safety Awards.
- Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award.
- Understanding of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).
- Experience with kitchen equipment.
- Proven experience in managing operations and staff within a food and beverage environment.
- Demonstrated compliance management experience, particularly in health & safety and licensing.
- Experience in project management and meeting deadlines.
- Experience supervising and training small teams.
- Familiarity with budgeting and gross profit margins.
- Strong team player.
