Role Overview:
The primary duty of a Youth and Education Community Organizer is personal development, mastering the art of Community Organizing under the mentorship of a seasoned Community Organizer. This role involves intensive engagement with a small assignment under close supervision, progressively enhancing skills and responsibilities.

A Community Organizer is on a path to becoming a proficient practitioner of broad-based community organizing methodologies, focusing on:
  • Building relational power
  • Identifying and nurturing leaders
  • Strengthening member institutions
  • Facilitating leader-led public actions
  • Achieving systemic change

This position is being established due to the increasing membership from Schools, Colleges, Universities, and Youth Groups, alongside the enthusiastic young individuals, educators, and parents eager to engage in public life.

Main Responsibilities:
As a Community Organizer at Citizens UK, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting the organizing team in delivering community organizing training within youth and educational institutions.
  • Leading the implementation of our community organizing modules across various educational settings.
  • Collaborating with senior organizers to identify growth opportunities.
  • Executing actions driven by our strategic framework and contributing to future planning.
  • Building relationships with individuals affected by youth violence in targeted communities.
  • Engaging with leaders from civil society organizations to collaboratively foster a brighter future for youth.
  • Establishing connections with key stakeholders in the youth sector.
  • Forming an Action Team to address local youth issues.
  • Continuing to engage with decision-makers to further organizational goals.
  • Conducting one-on-one meetings to foster relationships and understand leader concerns.
  • Delivering training workshops effectively.
  • Contributing to the financial sustainability of initiatives through effective fundraising.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant subject matter expertise in community work is desirable.
  • Previous campaign experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in community activities is essential.
  • Ability to manage projects and deliver results on time is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to listen and appreciate diverse viewpoints are crucial.
