Position Summary

The Academic Support Coordinator is integral to advancing the objectives of the Student Support Services (SSS) program by overseeing tutorial initiatives and delivering academic guidance to enrolled students. In collaboration with the Academic Coordinator and the Director, this role ensures the provision of impactful programs and services tailored for SSS participants. This position requires excellent communication abilities, strong organizational skills, creativity, a commitment to fostering student success, and a genuine enthusiasm for promoting student development.

  • Oversee and execute tutorial, academic coaching, and mentoring services for program participants.
  • Provide academic advising support services to enhance student learning.
  • Engage in the recruitment, selection, and training of tutors.
  • Create and maintain tutorial training resources and manage the weekly tutorial schedule.
  • Supervise the delivery of tutorial services to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Analyze and generate weekly reports on tutorial activities.
  • Design and facilitate student workshops, leadership training, and team-building exercises.
  • Support and encourage student engagement and academic needs.
  • Participate in professional development trainings and team meetings.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support the academic objectives of students.
Essential Qualifications
  • A master's degree in education, counseling, or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training, and experience in instructional roles.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in advising and coordinating student activities.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of diverse and underrepresented populations.
