About our operations.
This pivotal role is situated at our Bakkavor Pizza facility, renowned for producing high-quality chilled pizzas. Our site is strategically located to serve various regions efficiently.
Role Overview.
The SHE Manager will primarily focus on environmental management, particularly concerning our effluent and ammonia plants, as well as the discharge processes into local water systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining compliance with environmental permit conditions and ensuring timely communication with regulatory bodies.
  • Developing and executing SHE strategies that foster a proactive safety culture, enhancing our competitive advantage through employee engagement.
  • Interpreting and disseminating health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring adherence to both legal requirements and company policies.
  • Creating, implementing, and continuously refining the Health, Safety, and Environment management system, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
  • Monitoring and reporting on SHE performance, analyzing trends, and formulating action plans to meet SHE objectives.
  • Coordinating SHE training for management to ensure effective oversight of health and safety practices across the organization.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety practices through active workforce engagement.
  • Investigating and documenting incidents, recommending improvements to minimize future occurrences, and notifying authorities as necessary.
  • Overseeing the risk assessment process, providing guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with enforcement agencies and loss adjusters, ensuring that all communications are reported to senior management.
Candidate Profile.
  • NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
  • Extensive experience in a senior health and safety position within a large organization.
  • Strong passion for SHE and the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a collaborative approach.
  • Proven track record of compliance with legislation and adept problem-solving skills to make informed business decisions.
