About the Role:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of The Springfields Horticultural Society, a leading charity in the East of England. As CEO, you will lead a team of 19 staff members and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the short, medium, and long-term strategies of the charity, ensuring alignment with the Board of Trustees' goals and objectives.
  • Lead the team in achieving revenue growth and maintaining the organization's relevance and importance to the area and the horticulture sector.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to ensure the charitable aims and objectives are delivered.
  • Manage the organization's finances, ensuring sound business practices and financial sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, sponsors, and the local community.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new initiatives and programs to enhance the organization's impact and reputation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in the horticulture or events sector.
  • Excellent business acumen, with a track record of driving revenue growth and developing successful business strategies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Good financial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and make informed financial decisions.
