Job Description

Job Title: Shift Operations Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Operations Technician to join our team at BGIS. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our critical building systems, including HV/LV systems, air conditioning, UPS, generators, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that routine Preventive Maintenance (PPM) is carried out on all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.

  2. Carry out reactive tasks throughout the building, while being proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.

  3. Assist in managing and monitoring subcontractor activities and performance in line with site rules and standards, and to meet the requirements of the contract.

  4. Work in accordance with the Permit to Work System, in accordance with OGS Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements.

  5. Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.

  6. Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works, and provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.

  7. Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding reactive and breakdown works, and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator or update CAFM system.

  8. Develop a good working relationship with all members of OGS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.

  9. Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment, including always wearing the correct uniform and PPE.

  10. Ensure the professional image of BGIS is always presented to clients.

  11. Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of OGS are locked at all times and are kept in a clean and tidy condition.

  12. Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.

  13. Ensure tasks as directed are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.

  14. Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.

  15. Ensure Computer Based Maintenance systems, Invida, are kept up to date, and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.

  16. Perform any other task as directed by the Site management team.

  17. Produce dynamic risk assessments and detailed records of site activities, ensuring any non-compliance is challenged and escalated where necessary.

  18. Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordance with OGS Quality, Health & Safety procedures, and client requirements.

  19. Oversee the building's environmental conditions using the BMS System, and utilize same to maintain acceptable internal conditions.

  20. Proactively work towards attaining AP status for the systems in the building.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Shift Operations Technician who has a strong background in HV/LV systems, air conditioning, UPS, generators, and mechanical systems.
