About the Role

The University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Lecturer in Fine Art to join our team. As a Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, scholarship, and academic administration on the BA Fine Art course at Chelsea College of Arts.

The BA Fine Art course is a practical learning-through-doing events-based curriculum that hosts a large, international, and diverse student cohort. You will be a recognised authority in the contemporary art subject area, with a track record of professional practice within the art world at an international level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching practice and writing across year groups as required
  • Developing professionally-purposed pedagogy and enhancing the BA curriculum in innovative directions
  • Preparing students for ambitious graduate futures within culture sectors in the UK and globally

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of contemporary art practices, histories, contexts, and graduate destinations. You will have a proven track record of teaching in the HE sector and experience of working with substantial and culturally diverse cohorts.

The ideal candidate will be well-organised, inspirational, and have outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You will be a confident and engaging public speaker with excellent professional networks within the UK and internationally.
