Position Overview:

The Strategy and Planning division is entering a notably active phase with the formulation of a new corporate vision and the execution of our strategic objectives. In light of recent team adjustments, we are looking for a Strategy and Planning Officer (up to 1FTE) to join our team for a minimum commitment of 6 months.

This role is fundamentally about assisting the team in three key areas: corporate strategy, strategic planning, and performance monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise while collaborating with the team to meet organizational requirements. You will report directly to a Senior Strategy and Planning Manager, contributing to various initiatives and leading specific projects to enhance the team's functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Reporting: Gather quarterly report contributions from Directors and Senior Leaders, ensuring accurate and timely qualitative and quantitative insights are incorporated into the annual corporate business plan's quarterly updates.
  • Report Generation: Provide practical assistance to the team in creating documents that will inform the development of our corporate strategy.
  • Workshops and Meetings: Support the entire team in organizing and preparing for meetings and workshops, including agenda setting and documenting key insights and actions.
  • Presentation and Communication: Present in meetings and engage with all levels of the organization effectively.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Assist with various tasks across the team, adjusting to workload changes to meet team objectives.
  • Team Support: Manage the team inbox, highlighting important items and delegating them to the appropriate team members. Maintain the team plan to contribute to monthly planning sessions.

About the Strategy and Planning Division:

The Strategy and Planning team is a small yet influential group operating at the core of Brook Street UK, within the Strategy, Policy, and External Communications Directorate. We play a crucial role in shaping, producing, and communicating our corporate strategy throughout the organization. Additionally, we collaborate across departments to create strategic roadmaps, annual business plans, and public targets. We facilitate strategic planning and prioritization activities with executive leadership and senior management, overseeing strategic priorities. Our responsibility also includes tracking progress against our strategy through regular monitoring and reporting. We work in partnership with colleagues at all levels, assisting in translating strategy into actionable plans.

Our team is structured around a cycle of developing and executing our corporate strategy, building annual plans, and monitoring and reporting on progress. We focus broadly on three areas: strategy, strategic planning, and monitoring and reporting, each led by a Principal Strategy and Planning Manager with support from Senior Strategy and Planning Managers.
