BookTrust is the UK's foremost charity dedicated to enhancing children's reading experiences. We strive to engage millions of children in reading, particularly those from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds. Reading not only fosters happiness and health but also strengthens relationships, enhances academic performance, and nurtures creativity. Our mission is to support families in sharing stories and books from an early age, ensuring that every child has access to the joy of reading. Our carefully curated selection of books and well-researched programs are implemented by numerous local partners, bringing the joy of reading to children across various communities.

This is an exciting time to join our expanding team of researchers and evaluators. Our organization has recently undergone significant transformation to align with our new strategic focus on assisting children from low-income and vulnerable backgrounds in their reading journeys. We have integrated a theory of change and a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) culture within our operations. Our learning plan for the upcoming year is filled with diverse learning activities. This insight work is pivotal to BookTrust's objectives of enhancing our impact on children and families, as well as bolstering our public profile, advocacy efforts, and fundraising initiatives in support of our overarching mission.

In this position, we seek an individual with expertise in mixed methods and theory-based evaluation methodologies to aid in the development and implementation of our theory of change and MEL framework.

We offer excellent opportunities for the successful candidate to further develop their research, leadership, and partnership skills within a dynamic, purpose-driven national charity.
