Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Homeless Support Worker to join our team at Two Saints. As a Homeless Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clients and work with them on a one-to-one basis to identify their needs and develop a support plan.
  • Encourage clients to participate in personal progression activities, such as education, training, employment, or volunteering.
  • Provide support to clients to improve their practical skills, including budgeting, shopping, cooking, housework, laundry, and health and hygiene.
  • Support clients to address issues leading to homelessness, such as substance use, mental health, or debt, and help them access benefits they are entitled to claim.
  • Attend meetings to support clients, as required.
  • Work with external partners to maximize opportunities for clients to resettle in the community.
  • Maintain a welcoming and safe environment, identifying and minimizing potential risks to users of the premises and the organization.
  • Update client records using relevant systems to a good standard.
  • Work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and all policies and procedures.
  • Attend supervision, appraisal, training, and meetings as directed.
  • Work flexibly across all areas of operation, as required.

Requirements:

  • Clear verbal and written English.
  • Good IT and keyboard skills.
  • Polite, assertive manner, and ability to self-motivate.
  • Passion for working in a client-facing role.
  • Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation.
  • Interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues.
  • Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies.
