The primary responsibility of the Stores Operations Supervisor is to ensure the smooth functioning of the stores service, facilitating both clinical and non-clinical personnel in providing exemplary patient care. This role is crucial in overseeing the service, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, quality standards, and organizational protocols. A key focus of this position is on maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and Supervise: Oversee the safe and effective operation of the stores service across all facilities, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Infection Prevention and Control measures.
- Task Execution: Supervise and carry out scheduled tasks to support the stores, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety protocols and rigorous Infection Prevention and Control standards.
- Stock Management: Ensure the consistent availability and proper storage of stock consumables, including cleaning agents, while maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Site Maintenance: Uphold cleanliness and safety in both internal and external areas of the stores site, fostering a professional and secure environment.
- Staff Coordination: Oversee staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for the stores service, promptly addressing urgent requests to ensure efficient task completion.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing stores operations, collaborating closely with the Site Facilities Coordinator to ensure compliance with quality standards.
About Our Team
The Stores team, a vital part of the Facilities department, is dedicated to ensuring seamless stock provision for various departments, including housekeeping, catering, and clinical services. We work collaboratively with procurement, finance, and clinical teams, recognizing the essential role our services play in enhancing patient care. Each team member is committed to delivering outstanding service, understanding the significant impact our work has on patient well-being.
Operational Duties
- Oversee the stores service across all facilities, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Organize staffing schedules to cover essential services.
- Supervise and perform scheduled tasks to support the stores.
- Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control measures.
- Maintain the availability and proper storage of stock consumables.
- Perform additional tasks to uphold service specifications.
- Ensure the stores site is presentable and safe.
- Address urgent requests to ensure timely task completion.
- Collaborate with the Site Facilities Coordinator for operational improvements.
- Ensure tasks meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including food safety and environmental health.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Good educational background up to A level or equivalent experience.
- Business Administration Level 2.
- Institute of Leadership and Management qualification level 3.
- NVQ Level 3 in Facilities Management or equivalent.
