About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Decontamination Technician to join our team at Ashtead Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care Group. As a Decontamination Technician, you will be responsible for the full decontamination cycle of re-usable medical devices to the highest standards, ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialized decontamination service contributing to the clinical care of patients.
  • Carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilization of reusable medical devices, recording all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems database.
  • Work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
  • Provide supervision to Apprentice/Trainee Decontamination Technicians within the team.
  • Plan your own workload with limited supervision and coordinate the activity of a shift as required in the absence of the Decontamination Technician Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Decontamination Technician within a healthcare setting.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office package).
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts.
