Decontamination Technician Role
We are seeking a skilled Decontamination Technician to join our team at Ashtead Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care Group. As a Decontamination Technician, you will be responsible for the full decontamination cycle of re-usable medical devices to the highest standards, adhering to all Ramsay policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialized decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of patients.
- Carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilization of reusable medical devices, recording all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems database.
- Work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
- Provide supervision to Apprentice/Trainee Decontamination Technicians within the team.
- Plan your own workload with limited supervision and coordinate the activity of a shift as required in the absence of the Decontamination Technician Supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience as a Decontamination Technician within a healthcare setting.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
- Good computer skills (MS Office package).
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts.
