About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tactical Rostering Manager to join our team at RAC. As a key member of our Forecasting and Planning function, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tactical Rostering Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of monthly rosters, ensuring alignment with budgets, compliance, and published timelines.
  • Utilization of levers to flex hours, balancing service and costs, and minimizing wastage.
  • Ongoing review of hours deployment to optimize downtime management and adherence to contract types.
  • Identification of trends and root causes of resourcing gaps and opportunities by geographical areas.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and clarity of resource requirements and plans.
  • Maintenance of regular contact with operational teams, building relationships and offering support.
  • Engagement with colleagues across the Forecast and Planning team, promoting a one-team approach.
  • Review of current working arrangements and incentive opportunities for patrols, call centre, and deployment centre colleagues.
  • Creation of recommendations to improve working arrangements, balancing working conditions and efficiency.
  • Identification of overtime trends by geographical area and provision of solutions for required resource levels.
  • Coordination of Summer/Winter planning processes with operational teams, supporting trading challenges and hours visibility.
Requirements
  • Understanding and experience of RAC Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of key processes, systems, and data relating to Operations.
  • Experience of successfully leading a daily, operational function.
  • Understanding of risks faced by the function and ability to put controls in place to manage and mitigate.
  • Experience of successfully working across functions and bringing colleagues together to deliver.
  • Ability to challenge and influence at all levels to improve and enhance resourcing practices and hours placement efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly an ability to communicate internally and externally with all levels in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, to defined timescales and budget.
  • Logical thinker, with proven problem-solving skills.
  • Persistent, sees work through to completion on a daily basis.
  • Process-oriented person.
  • Adaptable, resilient, will not give up in the face of obstacles.
