About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled journalist to join our team as a Senior Health and Social Care Correspondent at BBC South West. As a key member of our multi-platform team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging content across our TV, Radio, and Online platforms.

Main Responsibilities

  • Respond to breaking news stories and provide insightful analysis and commentary
  • Develop and deliver original content across our output, working closely with our planning team and colleagues on Digital, TV, and Radio teams
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure we meet the BBC's 'Local Value for All' aims
  • Manage your own time and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines

Requirements

  • Significant experience working in a live TV news environment, with the ability to deliver across all platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of the BBC's editorial guidelines, media law, and the ability to demonstrate the BBC's values in your work
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, engaging content that resonates with our audiences
