About the Role

The East Cheshire NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialty Doctor to join our Care of the Elderly service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-focused care to our elderly patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the medical care on the elderly care wards or in the orthogeriatric service as required.
  • Deliver holistic geriatric assessments to improve patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement, audit, and service developments.
  • Assist with outpatient clinics as required.
  • Attend unit management and governance meetings.
  • Support implementation and achievement of targets set by the NHS long-term plan and NHS England with regards to older people's care and frailty care.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure effective management of inpatients, internal referrals, outpatient clinics, and investigational sessions.
  • Work together with primary care colleagues to ensure effective management of community patients.
  • Participate in the education and training of medical students, doctors, and professions allied to medicine, including those in primary care.
Requirements
  • NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level.
  • For new starters not already working to UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions of service will be appointed to the minimum paypoint.
  • The evidence required to increase a starting salary would be payslips and details noted in the application form, i.e., complete employment history.
