Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Role

Assystem GmbH is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at our customer's site in Derby on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, specifying, testing, and commissioning both bespoke and commercial Electrical Control and Instrumentation systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and specifying Electrical Control and Instrumentation systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation to a standard compatible with engineering best practice.
  • Carrying out site work to conduct design reviews, investigations, equipment trials, commissioning, and upgrade activities.
  • Supporting installation and commissioning teams to resolve queries and issues during installation, set to work, and commissioning.

Requirements:

  • HND or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience.
  • Experience of engineering design to commercial standards within the electrical, control, or automation industries.
  • Experience in selection and practical implementation of instrumentation solutions.
  • Experience in testing, setting to work, and commissioning of C&I systems.
  • Understanding of UKCA compliance (previously CE) and relevant European directives (Machinery, Low Voltage, and Electromagnetic Compatibility).
