Design Manager – Yorkshire Water Framework

Anderselite LTD is working with a regional civil engineering and utilities services company operating throughout the UK. Our client works with other companies ranging from private developers, local authorities, water companies, and blue-chip organizations to deliver first-class projects whilst maintaining excellent relationships with their clients.

We are recruiting for a Design Manager with a background in Civil Engineering to join our integrated team and lead the design of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects on our Yorkshire Water Framework from outline design through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the direct management of a small in-house team of designers, overseeing and developing design processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  2. Perform and coordinate internal and external activities associated with civil and infrastructure design.
  3. Manage and coordinate the preparation of design solutions, including drawings, reports, specifications, and estimates.
  4. Maintain communication with Project Managers and clients regarding project matters.
  5. Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
  6. Encourage innovative thinking and professional development.
  7. Perform other duties as required by line managers or project managers.
  8. Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  9. Create and maintain good relations with clients, design teams, and stakeholders.
  10. Possess strong knowledge of the UK Water Industry and Sewer Sector Guidance standards.
  11. Understand software design methods such as MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civils3D; experience with BIM integration is desirable.
  12. Be technically competent in hydraulic design principles and manual calculation methods.
  13. Have excellent communication, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  14. Hold a full UK driving license.
