Engineering Operations Supervisor at Arriva Kent Thameside Limited

Position Summary: In the role of Engineering Operations Supervisor, you will assist the Site Manager in optimizing engineering functions to ensure seamless operations. Your key duties will involve upholding service excellence, adhering to performance metrics, managing budgetary limits, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management: Foster a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety protocols. Oversee contractor access and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Team Leadership: Guide the engineering team in executing effective vehicle maintenance and repairs. Ensure resource availability and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensure that vehicles are maintained to exceed legal standards and meet operational demands.
  • Quality Control: Guarantee that vehicle availability aligns with contractual commitments. Supervise engineering staff to uphold high-quality benchmarks.
  • Human Resource Management: Oversee recruitment processes, performance evaluations, training initiatives, and employee relations. Ensure adherence to organizational policies and collective agreements.
  • Process Improvement: Advocate for initiatives that enhance efficiency and minimize waste.

Qualifications:

  • Proven engineering expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in a relevant discipline.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with Trade Union representatives.
