About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancer to join our in-house property team at JS Legal Recruitment Ltd. As a Conveyancing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and running your own case load of plot sales, including part-exchange acquisitions and releases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the company Solicitor heading the Plot Team
  • Direct responsibility for managing and running your own case load of plot sales
  • Preparing individual plot documentation and part-exchange title reports
  • Building relationships with purchaser's solicitors, and the Group Legal Department and regional operating companies
  • Attending meetings with the sales team to review caseload
  • Dealing with post-completion matters such as SDLT returns and land registration where necessary
  • Advising and assisting on issues which arise during plot sales and part-exchange transactions
  • Dealing with lease/transfer variations and reversion sales
  • Dealing with the recovery of retentions (Non-litigious)

  • Carrying out AML checks
Requirements
  • Experienced and motivated Conveyancer or Fee Earner with a sound knowledge of residential conveyancing, practice and procedure
  • Qualification through the Institute of Legal Executives, Council of Licensed Conveyancers or to at least degree level in law would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of handling plot sales for a residential house builder (either in-house or in private practice) would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work with modern computer-based technology
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, with good team and communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
