Wedding & Events Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Senior Sales & Event Coordinator to join our team at Harbour Hotels. As a key member of our sales and events team, you will be responsible for growing our events and accommodation business within the corporate, social, and wedding markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all customer inquiries are dealt with promptly, in a friendly manner, and in line with our company standards.
- To handle a variety of event inquiries, ranging from professional meetings to private functions and weddings.
- To manage the upcoming business on the books and support the coordinator.
- To possess a warm, personable nature, a can-do attitude, and an exceptional eye for detail.
- To be confident, enjoy client relationship building, and have clear planning and organizational skills.
- To be passionate, driven, and focused on achieving optimum results with a proactive approach to work.
- To possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- To balance multiple activities with demanding timescales in an environment where the activity is often reactive and requires immediate attention.
- To attend and host wedding open days and evenings throughout the year, as well as attend wedding fairs on behalf of the company.
- To deputy for the Event Sales Manager in their absence, ensuring weekly sales records are recorded and distributed.
- To take an active role in ensuring wedding inquiries are converted, understanding package allocations and scope to add benefits to secure bookings.
- To manage the sales office in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring function sheets are distributed and general office management.
- To ensure all events are confirmed with all relevant final details obtained, deposits processed, and relevant documentation sent to the client and communicated to the rest of the hotel.
- To actively convert customer inquiries into confirmed sales to develop future and repeat business, contributing to the profitability of the hotel.
- To work flexible hours over 7 days to meet the demands of the business.
- Previous hotel experience is preferred, together with knowledge of Opera & Thynk, although full training will be given to the right candidate.
