Job Title: Passive Fire Protection Cost Analyst

Department: Estimating/Commercial

Reports To: Commercial Director

Job Overview:

The Cost Analyst will play a crucial role in determining the financial aspects of passive fire protection initiatives. This position involves close collaboration with various teams including sales, project management, and operations to ensure that bid proposals are both competitive and profitable.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and interpret project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to create precise cost estimates.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and comprehensive project coverage.
  • Maintain an organized tender tracker to ensure timely submission of bids.
  • Partner with the Account Manager to manage potential opportunities and assist in setting client expectations.
  • Work alongside the Contracts Manager to identify project risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
  • Attend sales meetings to discuss the sales pipeline and current projects.
  • Support the sales team during client meetings and negotiations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and advancements in fire protection solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a cost analyst in the passive fire protection sector or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire protection systems and materials.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimation software.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Work Environment:

This is an office-based position with occasional site visits. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
