Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary:
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will lead efforts to drive a safe working environment for all Schreiber Foods partners, customers, visitors, and contractors. This role will be responsible for implementing successful environmental and safety programs through coordination of HSE, local regulations, and building a 'safety comes first' attitude amongst Schreiber Foods partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Compliance: Lead efforts to improve safety and environmental compliance for applicable programs.
- Written Programs: Develop, maintain, and improve applicable Environmental, Health and Safety written programs.
- Training: Oversee and administer Safety and Environmental training in the plant, ensuring proper training of hourly and salary partners.
- Inspections: Lead during regulatory agency inspections by external safety and/or environmental agencies or customers.
- Incident Investigations: Collaborate with partners and leaders to identify root causes of incidents such as spills, safety incidents, recordables, and other EHS issues.
- Behavior Based Safety: Conduct partner safety observations (PSO) training for leaders in the plant and validate observations to continuously improve.
- Accountability: Manage the plant safety budget and work with HO Safety and plant HR to drive plant worker's comp cases to resolution.
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or License/Certification in Occupational Safety, Health, or Environmental fields if accompanied by relevant experience and demonstrated performance.
- Experience: +6 years of experience in Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Safety in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Skills: Strong organization and planning, creative problem solver, and good strategy behavior. Proficiently utilize computer applications (Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, EHS Software platforms) to enhance performance and provide information to internal and external customers.
