About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Household Trading Underwriter to join our client, a national Managing General Agent (MGA), based in Essex. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for evaluating the risk and exposures of customers for new business, mid-term adjustments, and renewals from the network of UK and Ireland brokers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the risk and exposures of customers for new business, mid-term adjustments, and renewals
  • Quote, convert, and retain business for a range of specialist home insurance products within the eTrade channels
  • Trade with brokers to maximise conversion and retention within your authority
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Line Manager
  • Manage renewal and existing business control, including taking underwriting referrals from other offices
  • Support and drive income, conversion, and retention objectives

Requirements:

  • Education to A-level standard
  • Cert CII qualified, progressing towards Dip CII
  • Proven track record in household underwriting within an MGA, insurance company, or Lloyd's syndicate
