Position: Senior Claims Handler

Location: Greater Manchester (commutable area)

Work Arrangement: Full-time - hybrid model (2 days per week in office)

Overview:

In the capacity of Senior Claims Handler, you will oversee the management of substantial and intricate claims across a variety of insurance sectors, primarily focusing on Construction/Engineering and Cyber domains. Your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service to HSB's clientele as well as internal and external partners. You will ensure that claims are processed efficiently, competently, and in accordance with HSB's established service standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage claims across HSB's diverse portfolio from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) to resolution, enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Engage in litigation, mediation, and other legal matters as necessary.
  • Assist the Claims Leadership Team in fostering a high-performance culture within the claims department.
  • Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings, both internally and externally.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with internal teams, client companies, brokers, intermediaries, direct insured parties, and third-party entities to ensure excellence throughout the claims process.
  • Identify training needs within the claims team and collaborate with the Claims Leadership Team to develop and implement training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and governance throughout the claims handling process.
  • Oversee the effective engagement of third-party service providers such as Loss Adjusters and Solicitors.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in Customer Relationship Management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the UK insurance landscape.
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage a demanding workload.
  • Previous experience in the Engineering & Construction sector (preferred).
  • Proven track record in handling large and complex claims (mandatory).

Qualifications:

  • ACII (completed or in progress).
  • CIP (Irish equivalent).
