Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Position Overview
This position involves providing locum consultant services aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of the department in response to internal restructuring and rising service demands. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Head and Neck Oncology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
Additionally, the role includes responsibilities for training and mentoring junior medical personnel and allied health professionals. Clinical and surgical sessions are conducted at designated facilities as well as outreach locations.
Adjustments or additions to job plan commitments, such as participation in regional MDTs, may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities
The appointee will be stationed at the Queen Victoria Hospital. It is crucial that candidates possess comprehensive training in all facets of maxillofacial surgery.
The appointee will also be expected to engage in service delivery, assisting colleagues with maxillofacial trauma cases. The consultants within the department have developed subspecialist interests and frequently refer patients to one another as appropriate. The successful candidate should demonstrate competencies that will enhance and diversify the existing skill set in Head and Neck Oncology.

Essential Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree at the time of application
- Dental qualification that is registerable with the General Dental Council (GDC)
- Successful completion of FRCS or equivalent at the time of application
- Registration on the UK Specialist Register via: oCCT, or proposed CCT date must be within six months of the interview date oCESR, or proposed CESR date must be within six months of the interview date oEuropean Community Rights
