Senior Education Facilitator

About the Role:
The Good Shepherd Secure Unit is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Education Facilitator to join our team. As a key member of our Education and Care Team, you will play a vital role in promoting the academic and personal growth of our young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans to support the academic and personal development of our young people.
- Work closely with our Care Team to ensure a seamless transition between education and care settings.
- Provide guidance and support to our young people to help them achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with our Support for Learning Department to ensure that our young people receive the best possible education and care.
- Manage the movement of young people and staff across various areas, ensuring smooth and safe transitions throughout the day.
Requirements:
- Experience of supporting vulnerable young people.
- Commitment to Children's Rights.
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Social Care and the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Caring for Children and Young People at Level 3 or above, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Ability to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a registered supervisor within the first three months of employment and to be registered as a registered supervisor with the SSSC within six months of employment.

All convictions whether spent or unspent must be declared. These posts are regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
