About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Residential Care Worker to join our dedicated team at the Good Shepherd Secure Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with young people and support them to meet their needs and achieve their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide individualized care and support that promotes mental and emotional wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement care plans that address the unique needs and challenges of each young person.
  • Provide education and skills development opportunities that promote positive outcomes and long-term success.

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting vulnerable young people and a commitment to Children's Rights.
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Social Care and the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Caring for Children and Young People at Level 3 or above, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Ability to apply for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a registered supervisor within the first three months of employment and to be registered as a registered supervisor with the SSSC within six months of employment.
