Job Title: Management Accountant

We are recruiting for a part qualified Management Accountant on behalf of one of the UK's leading brands.

About the Role

This role will operate from the head office site in Bury and play a key role in the production of the management accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the monthly management accounts for store variable costs
  • Complete detailed variance analysis, with supporting commentary and evidence for any adverse/favourable variances to budget and last year
  • Assist with producing monthly, half-year and year-end Group reporting packs
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities and communicating these to the Retail Finance Manager
  • Assist with the production of monthly store P&L reports, liaising with Retail and highlighting variances to budget
  • Analyse key cost areas and provide challenge to the retail/procurement teams
  • Regular meetings with Retail/Procurement to gain an understanding of expected costs, highlight issues as they arise and challenge costs where necessary
  • Assist the Commercial Finance team with the production of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for store variable costs
  • Assist with the implementation of controls in line with the Group's Financial controls programme
  • Assist with audit queries
  • Ad hoc project work as required
Requirements
  • Part qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA
  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel (Vlookups, Pivot Tables etc)
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Working knowledge of the retail industry beneficial
