The Operations team at Javelin Group plays a vital role in managing the reconciliation, confirmation and settlement of commodity products within the company. Working closely with the Logistics team and traders, Operations ensures that risk is captured accurately, and the full lifecycle of the trade is supported effectively.

We are seeking two new analyst level candidates to join the team in 2024. You will work either in the Settlements team or Documentation team, contributing to the achievement of the Operation Group's objectives and playing a vital role in post-trade execution and moving the company forward towards its goals.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Trade Settlement and Invoicing process for physical and financial commodities
  2. Drafting physical and financial commodities documents
  3. Maintenance of Confirm reporting database
  4. Liaising with Trading/Logistics team to resolve queries and discrepancies
  5. Monitoring and updating settlements systems and daily reporting
  6. Ongoing management of Financing transactions
  7. Reconciling OTC and Exchange Traded positions
  8. Documenting processes and procedures

Requirements

  1. We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive candidate with some experience in Commodities Operations (e.g. an internship or analyst position)
  2. Degree in a STEM or Business-related field
  3. A strong work ethic is required to help drive the team forward and push for technology-based solutions
  4. Demonstrable organizational skills
  5. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  6. Ability to manage and prioritise workload and judge priority and urgency of requests and issues
  7. Excellent attention to detail
